  • Mood:

I sound happier

As is fairly typical for Christmas sorts of things, I was on the phone with my parents today. (They're buying me an air conditioner.) I talked about turning down Google's interview request, and work, and plans to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant. (I'll roast a ham tomorrow.) I also talked about the No Asshole Rule, in the context of ISB, and why their following it is really what makes all the difference in the world.

Earlier in the week, I'd been talking to one of my cousins; she intends to mail me sausage once again, the traditional gift of our family, and a major ingredient I make good use of. We talked about politics, and the job market, and UPS, and the other usual topics; it didn't seem odd to me.

My mother told me today that my cousin told her that I "sound happier". She "didn't think [I] was unhappy at [my] job at Microsoft, but [she] can hear such a huge difference..."

I don't know what that sounds like, but she's probably right.
