It's also good for stomach cramps, and can help regulate a person when their internal workings are a little out of normal working. :)

There's a book that my mom has that has a whole chapter about ginger and the effects it has on the body.

Though I did learn the hard way that there is a big difference between ginger you buy in the vegetable section, and candied ginger, lol.

Aye, taking a bite out of raw ginger seems slightly intense to me. It works really well as a stir-fry ingredient, though- when treated with the proper respect, anyway!

I use it as an effective antidote to pretty much anything my irritable bowel syndrome can throw at me. It's the asthma remedy that surprises me; I didn't expect it to stop a coughing fit.
