Feet are entirely underused in our society. Why is it so odd that I will turn on a light switch with a foot if my hands are full- or if I just don't feel like turning? Or open a door? Or lift an object? Or turn on my computer? Or *insert action here*?

Well, I use my feet quite frequently to open and close the bottom rack of the dishwasher, but my parents keep telling me not to for some reason. I also turn on the computer with my foot as it's near the floor. General problems with using feet, however, are:
  • At least one foot on the floor is necessary to keep upright
  • Feet have poorer fine motor control than hands
  • Most furniture is designed to be accessed with hands

Still, I know what you mean :)

I do it all the time. I'll lock and unlock doors with my toes, open the door to the fridge and pick up all sorts of things. It's fun and it's a lot easier than putting the stuff in my arms down.
