Rakeela and I are very bad at Tennis.

That said, it was well worth the $40 of low-end sporting equipment from the Fred Meyer to go down to the apartment complex's tennis courts and discover that first-hand for an hour and a half. It's also good exercise- I want to make that at least a weekly thing, if not more frequently, just to stay in better shape.

I started out with a 12-pack of tennis balls; we're now down to a 10-pack. The leasing office is now closed on Sundays, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to tell them they need to fish a couple of tennis balls out of the pool. High fences mean nothing against some of the terrible shots we came out with!

Also purchased at Fred Meyer: A small, heavily-discounted slow-cooker. I'm currently cooking dinner in it- a variation on orange chicken- and I am again reminded of the worst thing about a slow cooker: the smell makes you hungry for hours before the food is actually ready...
