An unfamiliar emptiness

It's strange to look at these rooms in this house I've lived in for the last decade, and see them empty. There is no furniture in my bedroom, half the bookshelves and much of the stuff from the game room is gone, and my study is completely empty. Most of my clothing is sitting in a pair of large suitcases in the guest bedroom I've been sleeping in for the last three days.

I'm used to having that stuff there. Going into these empty rooms is disorienting- the furniture becomes part of the place, and it's strange to be there without it.

Not that it'll be an issue for much longer. I'll be following my stuff soon enough- my flight leaves at 7:30 tomorrow morning.
