I've been offline recently without much warning. (And yes, I do have to use Invisible Mode; please stop asking me not to. I get flooded by a dozen windows if I don't.) This has partially been a mild depressive state from frustration at being stuck at home (which is over; I'm back on campus!), but it's mostly been that Trillian has been refusing to draw properly.
I've isolated WindowBlinds as the probable culprit; pretty though it is, it's been giving me general stability problems (it and my graphics card) so it's out. (And hopefully, so is my graphics card. I'd be glad to buy yours,
I'm more likely to be online in the middle of the day than the evenings, given my class schedule. On Tuesday and Thursday, I would be using my PDA if I'm on in the middle of the day (even without using wireless networking, I think I'll have to pack my Tablet's power cable to make it through the notetaking), so have patience; I'm slower on a three-onch QWERTY keyboard than on a real one!
Class schedule: Lazy Monday/Wednesday/Friday, with the predictably brutal Tuesday/Thursday.
M-W-F--: 1:00-2:00, Mathematics & Music (free elective). I wanted to take this since I first saw it and this is my last chance.
-T-R---: 11:30-1:00, Machine Learning (CS grad-level, required to get enough over-500). It's Bill Smart again! Y'know, the ACM coach from when we won? I'd prefer Sally G. Because she is made of awesome and this is her specialty, but I think she's taking the semester off from teaching.
-T-R---: 1:00-2:30, Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Development (finishes Psych minor). Gay Psych! Should be interesting. I don't like three-hour gaps in my schedule anyway, which I'd have with a more balanced schedule given the CS courses I want to take.
-T-R--: 4:00-5:30, Parallel Architectures and Algorithms (finishes CS major). Given the rising popularity of multicore processors, this is an absolute must, and I'm lucky I get a chance to take it. Even if Dr. Chamberlain's voice makes me want to rip my ears off and shove them down his throat.
So it's busy Tuesday/Thursday, but a chance to catch up on assignments, sleep, and personal hygene the rest of the week. I've had worse schedules!
P.S.
(written entirely on a PDA and unproofread, yes)
