But for the main point of this post, a sign I saw at the Village dining area last night but forgot to post about struck me as rather amusing.
Seen at the salad bar: "IF THE SAME-SIZE LID CANNOT CLOSE ON THE BOWL, A $2.00 UPCHARGE WILL BE ASSESSED"
This seemed an appropriate topic of conversation for the woman working behind the counter. "I take it people have been creating rather vertical salads?"
"Like you wouldn't believe! A lot of 'em have been more than three times as tall as the bowl."
I don't know why, but the mental image of a salad well over three times as tall as the bowl- say, six feet tall- appeared in my head, and I had little choice but to giggle.
