For "C", of course, being the variable holding the number of crushes listed in the previous post. That somehow went up to four.

Although I will be having to learn C++ next semester. I think the ugliest shock is going to be that all integer data types are only half the length I'm used to...

C++ does not specify the length of integer datatypes.

And Java, conversely, does. The standard values are half of what I'm used to, while some configurations do exactly what I'm used to with Java. It's implementation- and system-dependent, and I have to know which I'm working under. Since it may be the smaller set, I have to presume my program cannot handle larger values without larger data types. Furthermore, given the C++ spec for overflow, I can't rely on wraparound.

So it's still an unpleasant change- made all the more so by its nebulousness.
